The project focuses on a value based approach for reconstruction. The existing building is preserved by identifying and maintaining its valuable features. For example keeping overall volumetric composition, façade rhythm with present and recreated original openings and details, interior wall layout, and sgraffito artwork in the lobby. New design solutions are carefully added to an existing architecture. Such as opening up of the main façade, redesigning spaces, replacing valueless annexes. The volumetric composition is formed out of dominating symmetrical volume for the cinema hall and the asymmetrical annex constructed later on. The additional volume is demolished making a way for a new continuous symmetrical extension.
